कामजित और महात्मा बुद्ध। Kamajit and Mahatma Buddha.

घटना उन दिनों की हैं, जब महात्मा बुद्ध श्रावस्ती के जैतवन में विचरण कर रहे थे। उन्हीं दिनों सुप्पारक तीर्थ में साधु कामजित

वासना और धन का मोह जीतने के कारण लोगों के बीच श्रद्धा व सम्मान के पात्र बन गए थे। सबका सम्मान मिलने के कारण उन्हें अपने आप पर अभियान हो गया।

इस अहंकार के साथ जब वे अपने गुरु के पास लौटे तो गुरु ने उनसे यज्ञ के लिए समिधा लाने के लिए कहा। इस पर कामजित अभियान से बोले से बोले-" गुरुवर! अब मैं समस्त कामनाओ पर विजय प्राप्त कर चुका हूँ। अब मुझे किसी भी कर्म की आवश्यकता नहीं हैं।" गुरु उनके अहंकार को जान कर उनसे बोले- "वत्स!  मैंने सुना है कि कामनाओ पर विजय मात्र बुद्ध ने प्राप्त की है। वे इन दोनों श्रावस्ती में है। उत्तम होगा कि तुम उनसे एक बार अवश्य दर्शन कर आओ।"

कामजित को यह सुनकर क्रोध आया कि उनके गुरु ने उनकी प्रशंसा करने के स्थान पर किसी और को कामनाओं पर विजय करने वाला माना है। वे बुद्ध से मिलने श्रावस्ती पहुंचे। पता चला कि बुद्ध भिक्षा के लिए निकले हैं। वे आश्चर्य के साथ कि इतने भिक्षुको के रहते हुए भी बुद्ध स्वयं भिक्षा मांगने गए हैं। वे बुद्ध को खोजते हुए नगर पहुंचे। वहां उन्हें बुद्ध एक घर पर भिक्षा मांगते दिखाई पड़े।

कामजित ने उनसे बंधन मुक्ति का मार्ग पूछा। बुद्ध बोले-"तात! जो एक समय में केवल एक ही कर्म में इतना तल्लीन हो जाता हैं कि उसकी दूसरी इंद्रियों का भाव भी उसमें शेष नहीं रह जाता-ऐसा कर्मयोगी ही सच्चा अनासक्त और योगरूढ़ है। जिसकी चित्त व्रतियों चहुओर भ्रमण करती हैं। वहीं आसक्त है।" कामजित को अपनी भूल का एहसास हुआ और वे सच्चे निरासक्त बनने की तपस्या में निरत हो गए।

The incident dates back to the days when Mahatma Buddha was wandering in Jaitavan of Shravasti. Sage Kamjit in Supparak Tirtha in those days

Because of winning the desire of lust and wealth, they became worthy of reverence and respect among the people. Due to the respect of all, he campaigned on his own.

When he returned to his Guru with this ego, the Guru asked him to bring Samidha for the Yajna. On this Kamjit campaign said, "Guruvar! Now I have conquered all desires. Now I do not need any action." The Guru, knowing his ego, said to him - "Watts! I have heard that only Buddha has achieved victory over desires. He is in both of these Shravasti. It would be better that you must see him once."

Kamjit was enraged to hear that his Guru considered someone else to be victorious over his wishes instead of praising him. He reached Shravasti to meet Buddha. It is learned that Buddha has gone out for alms.  They wonder that despite being so many monks, Buddha himself has gone to beg.  They reached the city looking for Buddha.  There, Buddha was seen begging at a house.

Kamjit asked him the path of liberation from bondage. Buddha said- "Tat! One who is so engrossed in only one karma at a time that his other senses do not remain in it- only such a karmayogi is a true detachment and a yogurd. Whose mind visits the chants. Is enamored there."Kamjit realized his mistake and he became free from the penance of becoming a true destitute.
