अतिथि सत्कार में भूल। Mistake in hospitality.

एक जंगल में एक महात्मा रहते थे। वे बड़े अतिथि भक्त थे। नित्य प्रति जो भी पथिक उनकी कुटिया के सामने से गुजरता था, वे उसे रोककर भोजन दिया करते थे और उसकी सेवा भी करते थे।
A Mahatma lived in a forest. He was a great guest devotee. Every pilgrim who passed before his hut, they would stop him and give him food and also serve him.

एक दिन पथिक की प्रतीक्षा करते-करते शाम हो गई परंतु उन्हें कोई अतिथि न मिला। उस दिन नियम टूट जाने की आशंका से वे व्याकुल होने लगे।
One day it was evening while waiting for the pilgrim but he did not get any guest. On that day, they started to get worried due to the possibility of breaking the rules.

तभी उन्होंने देखा कि एक वृद्ध व्यक्ति थका-हारा चला आ रहा था। महात्मा जी ने उसे रोककर उसके पैर धुले और भोजन परोसा। वह वृद्ध बिना भगवान को भोग लगाएं और धन्यवाद दिये भोजन करने लग गया।
Then he saw that an old man was running tired. Mahatmaji stopped him and washed his feet and served food. The old man offered food to God and offered food thanks to him.

यह देख कर महात्मा जी ने उस व्यक्ति से पूछा कि," आपने भगवान को भोग नहीं लगाया?" वह व्यक्ति बोला," मैं भगवान को नहीं मानता।"
Seeing this, Mahatma ji asked the person, "You have not offered God?" The man said, "I don't believe in God."

महात्मा जी उसकी यह बात सुनकर बड़े कुर्द्ध हुए और उसके सामने से भोजन की थाली खींच ली। बिना यह सोचे कि रात में वह इस जंगल में कहाँ जाएगा, उन्होंने उसे कुटी से बाहर कर दिया।"
Mahatma ji became very angry on hearing this and pulled out a plate of food in front of him. Without thinking where he would go in the forest at night, they drove him out of the cottage. "

उस रात महात्मा जी को भगवान स्वप्न में दिखाई दिये और बोले- "तुम ने उस वृद्ध व्यक्ति के साथ जो व्यवहार किया, उसने तुम्हारे अतिथि सत्कार के सारे पुण्य को क्षीण कर दिया हैं।"
That night God appeared to Mahatma ji in a dream and said- "The way you treated that old man, you have undermined all the virtues of your hospitality."

महात्मा बोले -" प्रभु! मैने तो उसे इसलिये निकाला; क्योंकि उसने आपका अपमान किया था।" प्रभु बोले - "ठीक है कि वह मेरा नित्य अपमान करता है, परन्तु मैंने तब भी उसे सौ वर्षों तक भोजन कराया है। तुम उसको एक रात न करा सके।"

भगवान की बातें सुनकर महात्मा जी की आँखें खुल गई और वे बिना किसी भेदभाव के सबकी सेवा करने लगे।
Mahatma said- "Lord! I pulled him out because he insulted you." The Lord said- "Well, he insults me constantly, but I have still fed him for a hundred years. You could not get him a night."
Hearing the words of God, Mahatma ji opened his eyes and started serving everyone without any discrimination.
